Yay! Level 54!

Well, as the title suggest, I just reached level 54, and I did so while doing some quests in Aszhara. There are some relatively simple quests that you pick up from the Flight Path area at the very west when you cross in from Ashenvale, and I will be posting guides for them very soon. Also, there is a Hunter class quest that begins in this area, with some fairly difficult sub-quests that can take a bit of time to complete. I finished the first one, which is to find two sets of “Perfect Antlers” off the coursers. My next quest took me all the way to the east coast, where I am killing Wavethrashers for their scales. of which I need 8. The path I took to get there was full of fun: lots of elite giants on the way, and I nearly got dead a few times. Thank goodness for Feign Death!

But my favorite so far has definitely been the Blood Elves that I had to kill for a quest or to to get Kim’jael’s equipment back. These guys drop some decent coin, and I was getting mageweave and runecloth quite consistently. The blood elves are easily killed, despite their level, but I found that if they hit me and not my bear, then I suffer more damage than usual. Naturally I try to let the bear get the aggro and not me. Also, more than one at a time can be a problem, as I cannot use multi-shot without at least one of them coming after me. So I end up killing more slowly, and my bear takes more damage. So far I have handled two without a lot of problem, but three is too much; I usually have to run and feign death, then revive the bear (and he usually wakes up cranky!)

    2. Hey there - gratz on 54!

Hunter is my highest level toon as well, and man, those wavethrashers don’t drop their scales quickly do they? I think it took me 3 sessions of 2hrs each swimming around trying to FIND the beasts (since there aren’t many), nevermind actually getting the scales from them.

I found your blog by doing a search in Google - I’m always looking for active WoW blogs to cross-link with on my player blog, would you mind? I’ve linked to you from my player blog already :)

    3. Not sure why, but I am having trouble replying directly to comments. Anyway, hopefully I can do so when logged in as Admin.

I found the wavethrashers a bit slow, but mostly because there were the humanoids around. I forget the name of the ones that look like lobsters, but in my mind I was calling them “Zoidberg!”

I added a link to your blog; let me know what title you would like it to be displayed as, and I will change it. I have enjoyed what I have reade so far!
