Struggles of a Noob Enchanter

No, I don’t enchant noobs; I simply am a low level enchanter. My first alt was created for the dual purpose of being my Auction House toon and my Enchanter.

I have decided to level using two basic techniques. The first involves using the Auctioneer Addon to look for cheap Greens to disenchant, and then selling the resultant materials at the Auction House for a small profit. I have found this method to be limiting, however. It seems that Green items that result in profitable disenchants come in two varieties: levels 1 through 15, which are now too low to result in an increase in my enchating level (now 57), or 35 and up, which require Enchanting 75 or higher. I am stuck in a sort of “Doldrums” of enchanting levels.

So I decided that my second method would be to send my Main toon through some instances to pick up some mid-level greens for disenchanting. My first instance was Dead Mines, which was simply a mistake. The stuff from here was simply too low. I did send the greens to my Enchanter, but this resulted in no levels, just some sellable stuff (so not a complete loss). The next was Shadowfang Keep, which gave me fewer items, but at a slightly higher level. Result: I went from 54 to 57 Enchanting. Not a huge jump, but it is progress of some sort.

I was told that Wailing Caverns, or whatever it is called, might be what I need to try next. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would be glad to hear it. Regardless, I have decided to use this method to fulfill another one of my goals, which is to help out some lower level guild members. One lucky member will accompany me through an instance and pick up all the items, saving me time. We will greed on all the greens, they will get xp, we will split the cash (pays for repairs anyway), and I feel like a hero. good for everyone!

Except the mobs :)

    2. A strategy I employed for my lowbie Enchanter was:

Monday/Tues/Wed, buy up cheap lowbie (green) equipment on the AH - I’d say, things under 10s each -tailored or leatherworked items.

Enchant ‘em and post them back up for sale on Friday/Saturday/Sunday at 2-5x the price you bought them at.

This worked nifty for me so long as someone wasn’t continually flooding the market. It’s too bad there wasn’t a way to search specifically for enchanted items however - then folks could focus on enhanced equipment for purchases instead of not easily being able to see the difference between crafted and crafted enchanted.

    3. I never thought to actually enchant things; I was sticking with the disenchant routine, but I can see where this would get my levels up. I will need to save the reagents I get from my next round of disenchanting. I suppose I will also need to get my toon’s level up in order to be able to get over 150 enchanting, too, so it might be time for him to dust off his armour!
