Progress Made…

January 31, 2007 – 10:39 amWell, it has been a while since I posted, and I have managed to get to level 58 in the meantime. My most recent area of activity has been in Silithus, which I have found to be the most difficult area to move around in so far. The levels of the beasts and mobs has not been that tough, especially for a level 58 (well, I was 57 at the time), but they are so densely packed together that it is tough to make my way to a particular point without getting attacked and dismounted.
One of the more difficult quests was the Hive in the Tower. This quest requires that you climb to the top of a tower and basically knock over a wasp nest in order to get something out of it. All around the base of the tower are the Tormented Sentinels and Druids that will aggro from an abnormally long distance. Also, when they are killed, they usually spawn a hornet that also needs to be killed. More than once I was mobbed and had to sacrifice the bear and feign death to get through it; and that was just to get to the base.
Once at the base, I had to pull the two NPC’s from inside, then deal with their spawns, all without getting aggro from nearby NPC’s. Once they were dealt with, I was finally able to go inside the tower.
After I got inside, two or three wasps spawned and started attacking. At this point I simply decided to sacrifice the bear again, run upstairs and wait for the bear to die. Once the wasps came up for me I was able to feign death again, and then revive the bear.
Now the pod: When I did the right-click on it, three more wasps came out, but by this time I at least had the goo from the pod. However, if you reall want to complete the quest, you have to kill at least one wasp to get the next object, which turns out to be a book covered in some substance. I simply froze one wasp, turned the bear and my gun on one of the others. After it died, I looted and then got killed by the other two.
A bit expensive on the repair bill, but I saved time on the trip back to the Cenarion Hold 
Oh — and did I mention that in real life I have a phobia of stinging insects??
My next foray is into the Western Plague Land, and I am now trying to set the beacons on all four tower doors. And the undead seem to be as tightly packed as in Silithus! Oh well…the things we do to get to level 60!!
